Rebel Row

On Wednesday 23rd April, from 7-9pm, I will be at the Rebel Row shop on Union Street in Inverness to talk about my book “Daughters of the North: Jean Gordon and Mary, Queen of Scots”.

Rebel Row is the flagship store for the tartan-weaving Prickly Thistle mill. The shop sells amazing clothing woven and created in the Highlands. You can read more about Prickly Thistle and Rebel Row on their websites here (note: they don’t really do social media, so it’s all on their site!): https://www.pricklythistlescotland.com/

The shop also hosts interesting events: I took the picture above at the launch of Michael Forbes‘ art exhibition, which was hosted inside Rebel Row.

Clare Campbell, the owner of the Prickly Thistle mill, is very interested in Highland history, and especially Highland women’s history – which is where Jean Gordon comes in.

My talk is part of a regular series of social events which are held in the shop. I will be introducing my book and Jean Gordon, and also answering any questions, and signing copies of the book. I’ll have books for sale on the night. You can also check out the details on the Rebel Row website: https://pricklythistle.shop/pages/rebel-row-events
