Past Events

Jennifer has appeared at several book festivals, including Wigtown Book Festival, Bloody Scotland, the Nairn Book and Arts Festival and Tarbert Book Festival. She has also been invited to speak to various book groups, writers groups, libraries, schools etc., and has led workshops at Moniack Mhor writing centre and for smaller groups as well.

Jennifer is happy to talk about her new book “Daughters of the North: Jean Gordon and Mary, Queen of Scots”, or about her biography of crime writer Josephine Tey. She has also given talks about biography and crime fiction more generally, and about researching in archives. Other past talks and workshops have focused on Jennifer’s other writing, including poetry readings and playwriting. Please browse the Writing page for other work.

Bodies From the Library

In June 2016 Jennifer Morag Henderson spoke about her biography of Josephine Tey at the Bodies From the Library Conference at the British Library, London. This annual event celebrates the Golden Age of Detective Fiction.


Richard III Society AGM, York

In October 2016 I gave a talk about Josephine Tey’s book The Daughter of Time at the Richard III Society AGM. The AGM was held in The Merchant Adventurer’s Hall in York, a medieval building that Richard himself would have known.
