Great to see this review of my book “Daughters of the North: Jean Gordon and Mary, Queen of Scots” in “The Gunn Herald”, the magazine for the Clan Gunn:

“Henderson’s a skilled writer… With focus and grit, Henderson’s Daughters of the North is well worth the effort”
They also publish an interview I did with the magazine’s editor, Adrian Robinson – where I talk not only about Jean Gordon and “Daughters of the North”, but also how this led to a fascination with the history of the Clan Gunn – which influenced my new book “Jofrid Gunn”.

“Jofrid Gunn” is officially published in August, but you may start to see copies arriving in shops just before then! I was very pleased to see this advance review on Instagram from Tim Ecott, the author of “The Land of Maybe: A Faroe Island Year”:
“A remarkable new book… an amazing fusion of folk-tale and iridescent poetry woven around a story set in Faroes and Scotland. [Henderson] writes so beautifully.”
There is a book launch for “Jofrid Gunn” at 2pm on Saturday 9th August at Waterstones in Inverness – it’s free and all welcome. And I will be at the Verb Garden at Belladrum on Friday 1st August, from 1545-1630, where I’ll be telling stories from both “Daughters of the North” and “Jofrid Gunn”. I hope to see people at both events!
