I am doing some interesting events in November, to talk about my new book “Jofrid Gunn”, as well as the newly-republished edition of my last book “Daughters of the North: Jean Gordon and Mary, Queen of Scots”. First of all, I will be at Waterstones Inverness next weekend, on the 1st November:

On Saturday 1st November, 2.30-4.30pm, I will be taking part in a celebration for the 2nd anniversary of SHIPS: the Scottish Highlands and Islands Poetry Society, at Waterstones in the Eastgate centre in Inverness. I will be reading poems from my new book “Jofrid Gunn”, and there will also be readings from poets Cáit O’Neill McCullagh, Anne Macleod, Lynn Valentine and Gill Shaw. Musical accompaniment comes from Alpha Munro and Vint Grant. The event is free and no need to book – all welcome.

On Monday 17th November from 2-3pm, I will be at Forres Library for Book Week Scotland. At this event I will be talking about “Jofrid Gunn” in more detail, sharing some of the poems and stories from the history of the Faroe Islands and Scotland. This event is also free, but must be booked via Moray Libraries (either click on that link to book online, or call Forres Library on 01309 672834). Tea and coffee will be served.

Then, at the end of November, I will be at the St Andrew’s Book Festival in London for two events: first, I will be reading from “Jofrid Gunn” as part of a poetry showcase on Thursday 27th November at 6pm – details to book tickets here: https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/standrewsbookfestival/poetry-showcase/2025-11-27/18:00/t-zoggxnp
