I’ve been really pleased with the response to the installation of our blue plaque for Josephine Tey.
Here is a wee round-up of some of the news coverage and responses:
BBC online article: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cn3zl2drk0ko
I was also interviewed for the BBC Radio Scotland Highlands & Islands news bulletins, who ran a short piece about the blue plaque, and then a longer interview for the Afternoon Show. You can listen to my conversation with radio host Michelle McManus and author Sara Sheridan on the Afternoon Show via this link (starts at 1.07): https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m001ffcl
Papers including the Inverness Courier and the Press and Journal ran articles, as did the specialist Fine Books Magazine https://www.finebooksmagazine.com/blog/blue-plaque-daughter-time-writer-josephine-tey
Interest in Josephine Tey has increased not only because of the blue plaque, but also because of the recent new Penguin editions of her books. Interesting articles about her work, mentioning also my biography “Josephine Tey: A Life”, have appeared in the Economist https://www.economist.com/culture/2022/11/03/josephine-teys-crime-capers-probed-the-dark-side-of-human-nature and the London Review of Books https://www.lrb.co.uk/the-paper/v44/n23/tessa-hadley/lesser-beauties-drowned.
A reminder too that I am also on Twitter @jennifer_morag and Instagram @north_morag, where I have shared some of these positive responses. Thank you once again to everyone who has helped with the campaign for the blue plaque.
My biography “Josephine Tey: A Life” is available to buy from all good bookshops – buy links are on this page. If you would like a signed copy, my books are also now available direct from this website.
