Book Week Scotland 2025

For Book Week Scotland I am going to Forres Library on Monday 17th November, where I’ll be talking about my new book “Jofrid Gunn”. The event starts at 2pm and it’s free to attend, though the library ask that you register in advance so they have an idea of numbers. You can do that via the Moray Libraries page (sign in to display), or by calling the library on 01309 672834. Tea and coffee will be served.

Book Week is an annual celebration of books and reading. It’s in its 14th year, and is co-ordinated by Scottish Book Trust. I am on Book Trust’s Live Literature Author Directory and always enjoy doing events with them: if you are a school, library, book group or similar, you can go to the directory website to find out about funding and arrange an event.

After Book Week, at the end of November, I will be at the St Andrew’s Book Festival in London for two events: first, I will be reading from “Jofrid Gunn” as part of a poetry showcase on Thursday 27th November at 6pm – details to book tickets here: https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/standrewsbookfestival/poetry-showcase/2025-11-27/18:00/t-zoggxnp

and I will be discussing “Daughters of the North: Jean Gordon and Mary, Queen of Scots” with Rosemary Goring on Saturday 29th November at 12.30 – details to book tickets here: https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/standrewsbookfestival/daughters-of-the-north-jean-gordon-mary-queen-of-scots/2025-11-29/12:30/t-plzzyjm

And, looking forward to January 2026, I will be talking about “Jofrid Gunn” at the Inverness Field Club on 21st Jan.

I hope to see people at these events!

  1. Did this email reach you?

Please let me know by return.

I have tried sending you two emails regarding our Cuthberts/Colberts, and am unsure they got to you.

It might be better if you correspond with me using a private email address.

    Blessings, Lewis (Shaw)

      1. I have sent you two other articles with some scholarly questions about the good work that you and others have been doing.

        Did you receive those, please?

        Blessings ever, FLS
