The winners of the Saltire Literary Awards were announced at the weekend. I was a judge for the Scottish Poetry Book of the Year award.
You can see a video of all the shortlisted poets here, reading from their work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sH7MTMWHSMk&t=29s
The winner was Daisy Lafarge “Life Without Air”. Congratulations to her and all the shortlisted authors.

Sadly there was no in-person event this year, due to a combination of covid and Storm Arwen. However, this does mean that you can still watch the whole online ceremony on YouTube. Links, more information, and the full list of winners, are on the Saltire Society website: https://www.saltiresociety.org.uk/pages/category/scotlands-national-book-awards-21
I was also pleased to see that Ceris Jones, from my own publisher Sandstone Press, was joint winner in the ‘Scottish Emerging Publisher of the Year’ category!
