Josephine Tey (Beth MacKintosh) was born on 25th July 1896 – so last Wednesday was the 122nd anniversary of her birth.
Recently, I met up with writer SG MacLean to talk about Josephine Tey’s books, ahead of a talk she is doing on historical fiction and politics – check out her Instagram here.
Beth, the eldest of the three MacKintosh sisters, once wrote to one of her friends about how she never remembered people’s birthdays: “Time was when I always sent my sisters presents on the wrong day. I’m cured of that (self-preservation being the strongest of human instincts)…”
