I did a talk for the Inverness Townscape Heritage Project back in 2019 – they have now released a lovely video to mark the end of their Academy Street scheme, which you can watch here:
The video has some great images of Academy Street now and in the past, and also shows (briefly) my talk in Inverness Town House, which looked at Josephine Tey’s book “Kif” and its links to real life, including a photograph taken on Academy Street which shows a man who was an inspiration for one of the main characters. I was also involved in a talk about the history of the Victorian market which is shown in the video – a piece of writing and research which has come up many times.
